Develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of business, operations and strategy to prepare you for a career in engineering management.
Our course teaches you skills in leadership and management and how to apply them in an engineering context to deliver sustainable products, technologies and services. You'll explore the impact of new technologies and how they relate to management in the engineering sector. Your studies will include business analysis, product development and supply chain management.
Throughout the course, you'll develop a strong foundation in management essentials such as finance, operations, project management and strategy. You'll have the option to use this knowledge in a consultancy project where you'll work in teams on a real engineering or technology management challenge with an industrial partner. This practical focus will help you develop key skills and the professional confidence to take into the workplace.

Fees and funding
Extra costs
All School of Management MSc courses have a £60 application fee. Do not pay the fee until you have completed your application. You can pay the fee using the University’s online payment system.
If we offer you a place on a course, you will need to pay a £1,500 deposit to secure it.
Scholarships and bursaries

A range of scholarships are available with varying award amounts, with over 50 scholarships available.
IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components
The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 62 with no less than 59 in any element
TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components
You will need to get your English language qualification within 24 months prior to starting your course.

You'll graduate with the skills needed to take a lead role in global engineering companies, manufacturers and suppliers, technology consultancies and organisations needing engineering business management skills. Our graduates have gone on to work at companies including IBM, Hitachi, Jaguar Land Rover, Accenture and Vodaphone. Some of our graduates also choose to further their studies on our PhD programme or with other leading institutions.
Our course is delivered by the Faculty of Engineering & Design and School of Management. This collaborative approach bridges the gap between the two disciplines. You’ll learn from academics and industry professionals with expertise in engineering, innovation, sustainability, management and business. You'll also benefit from our links to business through guest lectures, site visits and opportunities to work with partner companies on real projects.

To apply for this course, you should have an undergraduate degree in engineering or management or another relevant subject.
We may make an offer based on a lower grade if you can provide evidence of your suitability for the degree.
